AT&T extends store hours for holidays

AT&T today announced that it is extending store hours at all of its retail locations on Wednesday, December 26th to accommodate the expected flurry of post-holiday shoppers. "Wireless devices and services, and especially the iPhone, are at the top of many holiday wish lists this year, and many will be looking for new accessories for their new handsets the day after Christmas," said Paul Roth, president of sales and marketing for AT&T's wireless business. "We're opening our doors early in as many locations as possible and adding extra staff to accommodate the needs of these customers."

The company is increasing staffing, and will open many of its 1,800 retail outlets as early as 7:00 a.m. local time. AT&T also reiterated that iPhone customers can freely activate their newly purchased handsets via iTunes without standing in line at a store location.

"Activating iPhone takes only minutes as iTunes guides the user through simple steps to choose their service plan, authorize their credit and activate their iPhone," the company added.
