Widow Sting 517D2 Notebook

Claiming to beat the Alienware m15x and other upcoming systems in the video performance race, Widow PC today rolled out its Sting 517D2. The gaming PC house says it is the first to install NVIDIA's new GeForce 8800M GTX mobile graphics chipset in a shipping notebook and uses it to provide desktop-class 3D games in a 17-inch portable. The extra performance and 512MB of video memory are also useful for driving full-resolution Blu-ray or HD DVD movies without taxing the main processor, Widow explains.

A base system equipped with the 8800M GTX as an option is priced at $2,799 and comes with a 1.8GHz Core 2 Duo, 1GB of memory, a basic 40GB hard drive, and a 1680x1050 display resolution. Upgrades ramp up the system to a 2.4GHz processor, 4GB of memory, a 250GB disk, and a 1920x1200 screen that can drive HD video at full resolution. Most orders ship from the company within one to two weeks.
