PocketMac unveils four games for stress relief
Information Appliance Associates recently unveiled four new games for Mac users, designed to give adults a "recess" to look forward to in their work day. IAA says that these four games are the beginning of a new product line that allows adults to take a stress relieving break in their work day. The first four games are as follows: PocketMac LunarMines, PocketMac Tic-Tac-Toe, PocketMac Hangman, and PocketMac TaiwanTiles. IAA is currently selling the games through its website, and each title ranges from $10 to $20.
LunarMines is a unique game where users control a flashlight beam with the mouse and try to scare moon creatures away from the mines littering the play field. The creatures will try to disable the mines – which are indicated outside the flashlight area as a red, yellow or green dot – and the object of the game is to keep them running for at least 75% of the time.
TaiwanTiles is a Mahjong solitaire game that features over 50 different layouts, and includes a "Let the tiles fall where they may" mode where the boards are completely randomly generated and not always solvable.
Hangman is a completely animated version of the game, designed to look and feel like a chalkboard, complete with sounds. Two alternative animations are available, and players can even draw their own. The word list consists of over 24,000 entries, and users can also input others. Players can type or say their words, even through the ICAO-alphabet.
Tic-Tac-Toe also mimics the look and feel of a chalkboard, with options to change chalk colour and appearance, winning animations, or even the grid – allowing for a field of play of seven by seven squares.
