New events to mark bigger Macworld expo
The organizers of next month's Macworld Conference and Expo have announced a number of new and returning exhibits, which they say coincide with larger-than-average bookings. IDG World Expo notes that while it is only the South Hall of Moscone Center that sells out on a regular basis, the West Hall has just sold out for the first time in Macworld's history. Among the exhibits at the expanded expo will be a Podcast Studio, featuring live broadcasts from popular Mac-themed shows, though no particular names have been mentioned.
A new Digital Photography Experience area will let users compare products, receive training and demonstrations, and find information on topics like cameras, site hosting, and asset management software. Audio vendor harman/kardon is meanwhile sponsoring the Berklee College of Music and its Dream Studio, a production area that relies on Mac hardware and software. Visitors will be able to tour themselves, witness demos or listen to daily lectures.
Microsoft has once again scheduled the Blogger Lounge, which will be hosted at booth 738 and give visitors a chance to blog from iMacs or their own notebooks. People are being encouraged to use the area to socialize as well. Finally, the Macworld Learning Center will be holding over 20 hours of free classes, covering topics such as starting on a Mac, using iPods, and engaging in artistic pursuits.
