Aspyr Media today announced that Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock for Mac is available on store shelves. Released in partnership with Activision, the Guitar Hero franchise makes its debut on Macs and "gives even more gamers the opportunity to unleash their inner-rock star." Developed and published exclusively by Aspyr, Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock for Mac matches its console counterparts with a set list that includes many of the most popular rock songs ever recorded. Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock comes bundled with an X-Plorer guitar controller for $80, requires Mac OS X 10.4.10 or later, and is compatible with Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard.
The game offers multiplayer action-inspired battle mode, boss battles, and a host of unlockable content as well as rock venues. According to the company, expansive online multiplayer game modes also allow "aspiring axe-shredders" worldwide to compete head-to-head for true legendary rock status with both PC and Mac gamers. is rated 'T' for Teen.

Axe has been slang for guitar for at least 30 some odd years. Shredding at term since about the 80's meaning to play very well, ie., at an expert or virtuoso level.
So the phrase basiclly means those who wish to be guitar experts or virtuosos.

Notice that even though it's a PC/MAC release it only says PC on the box. It probably says for Mac on the side in legal disclaimer size print.
