IntelliScanner ships Wine Collector 250
IntelliScanner has unveiled its Wine Collector 250, a portable barcode scanner and companion software package for managing wine collections. The scanner and software provide instant wine bottle details using an internet-enabled database and AUtoFill technology, helping users to determine the best drinking time and build custom reports to facilitate collection sharing with integrated iPhone sharing as well as Web 2.0 publishing. Wine Collector 250 is already shipping for $300, with a special edition model that includes a corded non-portable scanner also available for $200.
"Wine Collector 250 offers wine enthusiasts a complete wine management solution through innovative barcode technology and software," IntelliScanner said. "By scanning the retail barcode on a wine label and then plugging the scanner into a computer, the software will automatically download information about the bottle -- just like a digital camera -- and automatically fills in details like the name, varietal, winery, country, type, color and region."

The latest revision of the software offers detailed statistics and reports on entire wine collections alongside new sharing features and a search link that provides wine information with ratings from Wine Spectator as well as eRobertParker.com.
The update enables users to automatically publish wine collections to IntelliScanner.net with two clicks of the mouse, and an optimized version of for iPhone provides access to collection pages with support for browsing as well as searching wine collections on-the-go.
