Apple makes CRN Channel Best Sellers list
Apple has earned a spot in the Mid-Year CMP Channel Bestsellers list for both its desktop and notebook computers. The study -- conducted in conjunction with the NPD Group -- reveals the top five Desktop PC bestsellers as Hewlett-Packard, Lenovo, Apple, Acer, and Sony. The top five notebook PC bestsellers are listed as Lenovo, Hewlett-Packard, Panasonic, Sony, and Apple, respectively.
The Mid-Year CRN Channel Bestsellers represent the top five best-selling technologies in 22 categories, as well as the leading Channel Bestseller in each category and the Top Growth Bestseller.
"The CRN Bestsellers List is the authoritative technology guideline for readers as they make their product decisions and recommendations," said Robert C. DeMarzo, vice president and editorial director, CMP Channel. "It recognizes companies that might not lead their particular sector in overall market share according to traditional research firms, but that are formidable drivers of dollar volume revenue through the Channel. We applaud the companies on this mid-year listing."
Apple recently reported another record quarter driven by Mac sales and its highly successful retail division, and for the second quarter in a row revealed that more than half of its retail customers purchasing Macs were new to the system.
