$101 off MacBooks, iMacs

Apple has started its annual "Black Friday" sale, offering $101 discounts on MacBooks and new aluminum iMacs as well as $11 discounts on the iPod nano and iPod shuffle. In addition, the company is offering up to $31 discounts on the iPod classic (all iPods come with free engraving) as well as many discounts on cases -- now starting at $7. The company is also discounting its wireless devices, including offering the AirPort Extreme Wi-Fi router (with 802.11n networking) for $158 ($21 reduction) and AirPort Express for $88 ($11 discount). The Apple Wireless Mighty Mouse is now $11 off at $58, while the Apple Bluetooth headset is now $108 (discounted by $21). iPhone cases are now available starting at $7 as well. wow...

Discounts on all low-end merchandise. Where's the savings for a MBP, for example? Oh, right, consumers only want/need a 13" laptop, not some lame 15" one.

Compared to what other retailers are doing, it is kind of lame (h***, standard sales from CompUSA/BestBuy/Dell are better then this, let alone Black Friday sales).

    not black but grey...

Compared with the staggering specials that many vendors offer as exclusives on "Black Friday", Apple's miserable discounts (like their educational(!) discount) are expectedly disappointing. In Apple's case, it's hardly black, more a weak shade of grey, indistinguishable from white on a poorly calibrated screen!!!!

    Come on Apple...

Show that you're not as greedy as many say. Offer substantial discounts on EVERYTHING. It's only one day for goodness sake.

Too late for this year, but maybe you can makeup for it next "Black Friday".

Wow, ten bucks off. Mostly China and Taiwan origin items too. Still makes Gucci socks cheaper than the iPod ones.

    Not a watse...

Actually the discount is ON TOP of any additional EPP discounts, so my friends had over 200 off on a new iMac. That's not too shabby for apple.

    was someone...

...smoking Crack at Apple when they came up with this "discount" c***??

Those "price breaks" don't even cover the tax on the products they are "discounting"_

Is Apple so tight in the hole that they don't have a Pair big enough to discount their entire product line with something that people would give a damn about?

    Amazing !!

Sad thing is - that there will be a group of folks that still go into a store or log in online and eat this c*** up like it's the best thing they've ever come across_
