Logic review, LaCie

In brief: MacNN has reviewed Apple's Logic Express & Logic Studio professional software, LaCie has increased the duration of its product warranties, and Apple ranked as the 12th top Web property for the month of October. Two days remain for Pomoto's 'Turkey Special' promotion, and Created Equal has released TeachMac/TeachIt 5 with support for iPhone as well as Apple TV via a $10 subscription. MacNN has reviewed Logic Express & Logic Studio, Apple's pro audio applications that emphasize ease of use with a single screen and templates.

Logic Express and Logic Studio share the same code base, bringing a variety of new features and requiring more CPU power than previous iterations. The revised user interface offers a single window with retractable panes to expand workspace, while Spotlight search support helps users locate needed files quickly.

LaCie extends warranties

LaCie has announced a new warranty strategy designed to increase standard coverage to three years for its high-end Solution devices, and introduced a new on-site advance replacement option that swaps items without the need to first send back the old device.

LaCie's Solution line is defined by high-performance audio and video editing, RAID, networked attached storage (NAS). Solution products also include the d2 Quadra, 2big family, Rugged Triple Interface device, and all monitors. The company's Professional Consumer products now have a standard warranty of two years and include most other LaCie storage products.

The new program is effective immediately.

Apple ranked as 12th top Web property

comScore has released its monthly analysis of U.S. consumer activity at top online properties for October of 2007, ranking Apple as the no. 12 top Web property. The Cupertino-based company garnered more than 43 million unique visitors from home, work, and university locations to place slightly higher than the Weather Channel and CNET Networks.
