Sprint prepping Pearl, Moto Q9c for Black Friday

updated 04:10 pm EST, Thu November 15, 2007

Sprint Pearl and Q9c Soon

Sprint will contribute its own share to Black Friday (the 23rd) by releasing two crucial smartphones as well as a third device for its iDEN network, says a new tip from Crave. The carrier intends to release its already hinted-at Moto Q2 (also known as the Q9c) the day after Thanksgiving and will include both Documents to Go for more advanced Office file editing than Windows Mobile offers and Good Mobile Messaging for push-style e-mail from Exchange servers. It will be priced at $150 with a two-year plan, according to Sprint.

The American provider is now also slated to offer its previously announced BlackBerry Pearl 8130 on the same day, the report confirms. Its native GPS will allow access to Sprint's Navigation mapping service while the improved audiovisual functions provide access to the Sprint Music Store and to its Internet TV streaming features. Regardless of the additional features, the new CDMA-based Pearl will sell for the same $200 with a two-year plan as for the GSM version at rival carriers.

Customers of the iDEN services used by the formerly independent Nextel will also have access to the Motorola i335 on the 23rd. The candybar handset is aimed at bringing the RAZR's aesthetic to walkie talkie phones and will include a stylized design that still withstands dirt and shocks. Bluetooth and GPS will come standard with the push-to-talk phone when it sells for $50 with a two-year contract.
