Duracell personal power

Duracell today announced 11 new consumer products, designed for those with mobile lifestyles. The company has discovered from recent statistics that there is an average of one power outage every 13 days in the US, with one in three adults saying that a lengthly power outage would present a small impact on their personal financial stability. Because of this, Duracell is designing these products for businesses, but says that home users will also find them useful. Among the offerings are three power packs, five inverters, and three automotive battery chargers and jump-starters. Pricing for the units start at $30.

The PowerSource Mobile ($140) can connect to any USB or AC power source to provide up to two hours of runtime for a laptop, or drastically extended run time for a cell phone, iPod, or other mobile devices. The Powerpack 300 ($100) provides 300 watts of AC power, an LED flashlight, a built-in air compressor and jumper cables, while the Powerpack 600 ($190) has 600 watts of AC, and includes jumper cables, AM/FM radio and a digital alarm clock.

Inverter 1000 ($120) and 1500 ($170) will convert DC power to AC, for use with a vehicle, boar or RV. They are powerful enough to use a number of appliances, tools and electronics, such as refrigerators, vacuum cleaners, televisions, drills, and computers, among others. Both models include two AC outlets, high surge capacity, mounting brackets, and several protection features. On a smaller scale, the Pocket Inverter 100 ($30) and 175 ($40) are ideal for charging mobile devices, such as cell phones, iPods and laptops, using the inverters' included AC and USB ports. Lastly, the Digital Inverter 400 ($60) will power most consumer electronics with 400 watts of AC power, while having a 700 watt surge. A digital display shows information regarding power usage, and the unit offers surge protection over two AC outlets.

The Instant Jumpstart System ($80) is a portable, rechargeable unit for reviving dead vehicle batteries. The unit offers an emergency light, and a included polarity indicator displays whether or not the jumper cables were properly hooked to the appropriate battery terminals. The 2-amp Battery Maintainer ($30) keeps infrequently-used vehicle batteries charged, while the 15-amp Battery Charger ($80) allows users to charge vehicle batteries should they run low.
