IPEVO Skype phones for Mac

IPEVO today announced that all of its Skype devices are compatbile with Mac OS X 10.4 and later, as is its software software. The company's Mac-compatible and Skype-certified phones include the Free.1 USB phone -- a plug-in handset designed exclusively for Skype with a slim and compact design -- as well as the Free2 USB phone and the TRIO three-in-one device. Additionally, IPEVO's newly launched SOLO device allows users to make as well as receive Skype calls without being tied to a computer.

"We've been called the Mac of Skype phones, and that's a high compliment," said Edward Lucero, vice president and general manager of IPEVO North America. "Our goal is to raise the bar in Skype devices with smart, user-friendly designs that take the complexity out of technology and keep an eye on both function and aesthetics."

The Free2 USB phone offers the same features as its older sibling, but adds a backlit LCD display for SKype caller ID and contact lists. Build-in recording capabilities also enable users to record Skype conversations via the push of a button.

The TRIO is a business-oriented handset with a speakerphone mode that brings conferencing capability.

I love waiting around with baited breath like a hungry lap dog waiting to see if a company will serve up a mac version of a product well after it arrives for PC. I feel totally vindicated and not at all pathetic.
