Macally 3G iPod nano cases

Macally recently unveiled new 3G iPod nano cases, some of which were given a small sneak peek at MacLive Expo. The cases come in a variety of materials – neoprene, rubber, leather, stainless steel – and styles. The offerings range from the mirrored Mirage, the striking IceSuitN3, the elegant Masquerade, and the handy Metro, among others. The manufacturer has said that the cases will be available in retailers all across the United States, and the starting price is listed at $20.

The Mirage is a hard case with a built-in two-way mirror that provides a shiny finish by default, but allows the screen to shine through when powered up. Macally says the case has a non-slip rubber paint that repels scuffs, while a polyurethane film protects the scrollwheel. A belt clip is included with the case, and it is selling for $30.

Macally has a few leather offerings, the Bella and the Metro. The Bella features a nappa leather front panel, with an open space for the clickwheel, and a clear plastic screen protector. A carabiner attaches the case to one's person, while a soft Polyurethane backing protects the iPod from bumps. The Metro is more of a holster than a case, featuring a removable carabiner and an armband. The Divo is similar to the Bella, but features a neck lanyard as well as the wrist lanyard. All three cases are available for $30.

The Masquerade is a stainless steel case, with a blend of modern and classic designs etched into the surface. Cutouts provide access to the iPod's features. The black and orange IceSuiteN3 is made of non-slip rubber, and features a handy cable management system on the back. The Masquerade and IceSuiteN3 sell for $20.

Lastly, the Sportivo is constructed from neoprene, and it features both an armband and a wrist strap. The screen is again protected by clear plastic, and the clickwheel is left open. Sportivo sells for $30.
