EVE Online for Intel Macs

CCP Games and TransGaming Technologies today announced that they have completed work on the Mac OS and Linux versions of CCP's popular massively multiplayer online game, EVE Online. As the MMOG has been ported through the use of TransGaming's Cider, the game will only function on Intel-based Macs. EVE Online requires a subscription, with monthly plans starting at $15 per month, and is currently available for download from the game's website.

“The explosive growth of EVE Online since its launch coupled with the strong demand from the Mac and Linux communities has encouraged us to make the game available on new platforms,” said Thor Gunnarsson, Vice President of Business Development of CCP. “Together with TransGaming, we have now achieved an important milestone in our drive to make the EVE universe pervasive and available to anyone who wishes to play.”

Well I have a Mini 1.83 and at some point [soon] after I do some maintenance - I'm jumping on the band-wagon to check this out_ I've been dying to play since I first heard about EVE and was debating running Winodze on the Mac to be able to do this - but they beat me to the punch_

Yay! One less reason to install Win on my Mac_
