Official iPhone Dev Center
Apple's developer website is now the home of the iPhone Dev Center, a central location for the company's official information on coding web applications. Aside from making reference to its previously-released interface guidelines, numerous other reference sections have been included, such as a "Tech Talk Videos" area where Apple engineers explain concepts including synched data and optimizing for Safari. Sample code is provided for objects such as games and buttons, and the Reference Library includes topics like Javascript and WebKit DOM.
The sidebar contains links to the WebKit browser engine, registration for iPhone Tech Talk participation, and a submission form for the recently-announced web app library. Also mentioned are handbooks for designing cases and other accessories for the iPhone. The Dev Center currently makes no reference to native applications, which should come to the iPhone next year after the introduction of the official SDK, set for February.
