Leopard arriving in stores, box shots

Leopard arriving in stores

Although it won't be on sale until Friday, October 26th, Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) boxes are already arriving at Apple stores and possibly other outlets. In fact, it appears that some stores are already selling Leopard. HardMac reports "It is clear that some shops will start selling Leopard prior the deadline. Many readers who have purchased Leopard from the Apple Store confirmed that for most of them it is announced as 'shipping.' So it might be in the mail boxes tomorrow." VARs are reporting that pre-orders for Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard -- available from the Apple Store, Amazon (with Parallels Bundle), and MacMall (for delivery on Oct 26th) -- are double what they were for Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger.

Users are also reporting that they are receiving shipment notices for Leopard. One MacNN reader wrote "The status on my order for Leopard changed from 'Not Yet Shipped' to 'Prepared for Shipment' Saturday night (10/20 for 10/26 delivery?)."

    Hmmm...

Sounds like jealous Vista users to me, complaining about box shots.

Could that be that Vista will never get the acceptance that XP did? (or still does?)

    Can't Track

One other thing I have a shippment notice and a tracking number but when I try to track I get this notice.

Please call 1 888 SHIP-123 or 1-888-744-7123 for information on this shipment.

Never had problems tracking before, I wonder if the carrier has been instructed to hold the shipment? :-(

    I'm disappointed...

... that Apple designers don't realize that they could make the DVD look like the Apple logo if they just place the finger divot at the top and the half-moon tab on the side.

Hopefully we'll see more attention to packaging in 10.6.

    ;-)~

    Now I am pissed

OK I finaly got tracking info, here I thought I might get the package a day early.

Well it was sent from the US to Canada on Purolator Ground That means I wont see it till next week, considering I pre-ordered the day it was announced and status was ready for shipment on Monday, I am not a happy camper!
