Fastmac has announced that it will be holding a free T-Shirt give away outside select Apple stores on October 26th, 2007 to commemorate Apple's Mac OS X Leopard Launch Event. The T-shirts will be given away for free outside select stores nationwide between 4 PM and 6 PM on the day of the launch. While supplies last, the T-shirts will also be available for free with any purchase from Fastmac's website. The shirts are available in 4 limited edition designs: "Hasta La Vista"; "Mac to the Future"; "A Whole New Xperience"; and "300."
Sudoku for iPhone/iPod touch debuts
iPhonus Sudoku is a new puzzle game for iPhone and iPod Touch. It contains over 40000 puzzles in 5 difficulty levels, pencilmarks, hints, two variants of incorrect move notification and is skinnable. The game is priced at $15. The company also offers free demo version with a limited number of puzzles and only basic playable features.
WonderWorks offers pre-formatted iPod/iPhone DVD content
WonderWorks Entertainment will this week release is Mobile Matinee collection of eight classic movies and 12 audiobooks on three DVD-ROMs; the content is specially designed for the iPod and iPhone market. The DVD-ROM titles are pre-formatted for iPod, import quickly to iTunes and can be viewed on iPod, iPod Nano, iPhone, a computer or directly on TV by use of a 30-pin connector. The new collections feature the films of Cary Grant, Danny Kaye, Shirley Temple, and William Powell among others, plus the writings of Mark Twain, H.G. Wells, Jack London, Edgar Allen Poe, Nathaniel Hawthorne, Lewis Carroll and L. Frank Baum.
Chronos releases Yojimbo-SOHO Notes converter
Chronos has announced a free converter application for switching from Bare Bone Software's Yojimbo to SOHO Notes. According to Robert McCullough, V.P. of Development at Chronos, "We've seen substantial interest from Yojimbo customers wanting to make the transition to SOHO Notes. SOHO Notes is much more flexible in the options it gives customers for organizing THEIR data. In particular, users can organize their notes in hierarchical groups of folders and sub-folders—Yojimbo can't. Plus, users can create custom smart folders to view, find, and organize their data—Yojimbo can't."
ITN news to be free through iTunes
ITN says it has has struck a deal with Apple that will make its mobile news and entertainment content available for free via iTunes. Each segment will be preceded by a short pre-roll advertisement provided by Ad Infuse. The Press Gazette reports "Viewers will be able to keep up-to-date with UK, world, showbiz, business and sport news, and will also be able to download other ITN products such as Movie Buff and its weekly sports news bulliten Sports Fix."
