The Weather Channel offers iPhone Web app

The Weather Channel Interactive has launched an optimized weather application for the iPhone and iPod touch. Created by The Weather Channel Mobile, this new application requires no download and leverages Apple's touch screen technology to deliver current conditions, hourly and 10-day forecasts, and maps in an interactive environment where functionality like sliding pages and 'fade ins' are used.

Tech chief reviews iPhone

The VP of IS for Direct Energy for the wholesale business unit of Direct Energy, a retail energy provider with annual revenue of $8 billion, has reviewed the iPhone. His IT staff of 60 supports some 500 smart phones. He concludes "I don't think the iPhone is a BlackBerry killer. The devices are meant for two different ends of the market. For instance, I can't dash out emails on my iPhone in the quick-fire way that I can on the BlackBerry, but I also can't check soccer scores as easily or watch the latest crazy YouTube video on my BlackBerry the way I can using the iPhone."

iPhone site/phone number directory debuts

The Fast Pages is a new, free and web directory with offering access to thousands of mobile friendly websites and touch-to-dial phone numbers. "With typing still an issue for all smartphones, TFP is particularly helpful for new iPhone users who may find their keyboard challenging at first. iPhone users can now surf the web immediately without typing and get real results, valuable information and instant dialing."

50 iPhone wallpapers

The writer if "iPhone, therefore iBlog" has created 50 custom wallpapers for the iPhone that are available for immediate download. To put them on the iPhone, save the images and sync them to your phone with your favorite photo program then go to your photos and you should see the new wallpapers in the proper folder.
