It appears that Apple is indeed gearing up to ship Leopard on October 26th. MacRumors discovered that if you (recently) tried to order Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger) from the online Apple Store, the estimated ship date is October 26th, 2007. The company subsequently updated their store and changed the ship date for Tiger back to "Within 24 hours". Meanwhile, Amazon is taking pre-orders for Mac OS X 10.5, priced at $129. Amazon indicates only "This product is expected to ship sometime in October."

Apple to issue fix for iMac Boot Camp problems

Apple is currently testing an update for previous-generation (white) 24-inch iMacs intended to resolve an issue that prevented users from running Boot Camp on the systems. The patch resolves issues with graphics cards that connect via NVIDIA's MXM slot format -- utilized by Apple for the GeForce 7300 GT and GeForce 7600 GT cards in only the 24-inch systems. The new aluminum iMacs use a different interface that is not susceptible to the Boot Camp issue, according to AppleInsider.

    10.5 might be

10.5 might be the first 10.x release that I wait a while for. The main reason is that I want to make sure that all of my graphics apps (Adobe CS3, etc.) are going to run well. I like Tiger, sure, but the upgrade wasn't without some gotchas. I guess I'm losing my early adopter status with this one...maybe I'm just getting old. ??
