NEC debuts tilting 24" LCD

NEC has announced a new entry into its MultiSync 70 line of LCDs, the LCD2470WVX. Measuring 24 inches in a widescreen format, the monitor is capable of resolutions up to 1900x1200, and supports the full range of HD ratios through an HDCP-compatible DVI-D port. Owners can also connect the monitor through VGA input. One of the primary features of the monitor is actually its stand, which lets users pivot, swivel and tilt the display for whatever alignment works best, including pure vertical. A thin bezel makes it more suited for multi-monitor use.

Brightness on the display is rated at 400cd/m2, with a 1,000:1 contrast ratio; response time meanwhile is a short 5ms. To further improve appearance, the monitor uses a technology called Advanced Dynamic Video to tweak brightness, color and contrast. The screen currently has no official release date; also, because it is aimed at businesses, buyers must check with NEC for prices.

    uh

Am I out of touch or don't most 24" widescreens rotate, tilt and swivel? Other than size/aspect ratio, I've had screens with this feature for years. Call me cynical, but I don't see the innovation.

All nit picking aside, it's a sweet lookin' screen ;)

    pivoting screens...

If the price isn't more than twice that of Samsung 244T (the only other decent pivoting 24" widescreen I know of), then this is a serious contender.
