Gish 2 concept art
Independent game development firm Cryptic Sea has posted concept art hinting at the gameplay or storyline of the company's forthcoming title, Gish 2. Cryptic Sea in March promised Mac users a native version of Blast Miner -- a separate game that inspired one player to launch his own fan site dedicated to the title -- and delivered the Mac version shortly afterward. Gish 2 will succeed the original game that won the grand prize at IGF, challenging players to control a small blob of tar that can change its physical properties to navigate its environment. Players combine their knowledge of physics with the ability to make Gish "sticky" or "heavy," thus enabling the blob to climb walls and throw objects. Gish 2 will incorporate a new lighting system, smoother graphics, realistic shadows, and more. Cryptic Sea has once again promised to accommodate the Mac gaming community, this time by releasing Gish 2 for both Mac and Windows systems simultaneously.
