Woz at the Emmys

In brief: Apple is planning a new flagship retail store in brooklyn, the Woz appears at the Emmys with Kathy Griffin, Oranged.net Software has released a new tool called Accounted, Dejal is celebrating its 16th anniversary with discounts, Scotsys will hold a series of Mac photography seminars, and Shure's SE headphones are iPhone compatible ... Apple is planning to open a Flagship Store in Brooklyn. At this time is which neighborhood the the store is planned, but Racked posits several possibilities "Williamsburg: Can you think of a major big-box retailer with a presence in the Burg? Exactly. Which is why this has to happen. Picture the hipsters, fresh off the L Train, wandering up North 6th and into the Apple Store, firm in their decision to avoid the $40 used iPod Shuffle on Craigslist in favor of the real $99 McCoy. These are the moments of our lives. Steve, baby, make it so."

The Woz appears at the Emmys with Kathy Griffin

Steve Wozniak and Kathy Griffin made an appearance together at the Emmys last night. Gizmodo reports "Yes, Woz and Kathy Griffin went to the Emmys together last night, although why either of them were invited isn't exactly clear. I don't think I can continue writing this post without it dissolving into me sounding like a high school bully making fun of dorky couples at the prom"

Dejal celebrates its 16th anniversary with discounts

Dejal Software has announced that, in celebrating its 16 anniversary, the company is offering discounts on all of their products from today till the end of the week. No special codes or coupons required, but interested customers need to use the online store, not the in-app purchasing tool, to take advantage of these low prices. These specials expire on Sunday, September 23, 2007.

Scotsys holds Mac photography seminars

Scotsys will hold two free seminars to demonstrate the value of using a Mac in a professional photographer's workflow. The first is called "Perfect Match" and will be held on September 24th at Scotsys, Edinburgh. It will feature Apple, Canon and HP showing "how Aperture integrates with the latest digital SLR cameras and photo-editing tools like Photoshop." The guest speaker is award-winning landscape photographer Colin Prior. The second takes place on Tuesday the 25th of September PM at Scotsys, Glasgow. Called "Optimize Your Creativity," the seminar will spotlight Adobe Creative Suite 3, and feature Adobe, Canon and onOne Software.

Shure's SE headphones are iPhone compatible

Shure's new SE line of noise isolating earbud headphones are iPhone compatible, even without the $50 Music Phone Adapter. A MacNN reader writes: "I just got a pair of the SE 210's at the Apple Store for $150, and to my surprise, the included extension cord has an iPhone compatible jack. I bet the other 4 SE headphones come with the same extension cord. The extension cord is part of a new 'modular' design that allows you to swap in the Music Phone Adapter. With the extension cord attached the total length is just right for having the iPhone in your pocket." If you ride the subway in NYC and want to listen to music without all the clatter, these headphones are perfect.

...Atlantic Terminal (a large, higher-scale shopping area that's on lines that connect from big Manhattan train lines) or Dumbo would be much more Apple's target for a Brooklyn store.
