Toon Boom Studio 4

Toon Boom Animation Inc. has announced the release of Toon Boom Studio 4, the latest release of the all-in-one animation suite. Studio 4 features a redesigned user interface for an improved workflow, as well as greater flexibility via the ability to customize workspaces. Extended animation styles import, vectorize, and animate photographs while a broader selection of brushes help users create better line styles. A new Feather Edges feature applies blurs and glows to drawings, improved motion capabilities set more realistic moves with the new peg's Orient to path feature, and advanced Web publishing options help users play back animation on the internet more efficiently.

The update also includes support for Adobe Illustrator layers, the Vectorize Preview window, improved drawing tools, and Alpha Onion Skinning. Toon Boom Studio 4 is available as a pre-launch special for $330 until September 13, 2007. Studio 4 customers can log into their Members/My Products Page on Toon Boom’s web site and download this latest release immediately. All orders requiring
shipping will be processed at the end of September 2007.

    Toon Boom manual sucks

The program might be a good one, but the learning curve is steep, and their manual... oh yeah. There is no manual. And if you have any problems, you have to pay $$$ to get them to respond. Adobe should just buy them and make it FlashTV or something...

    I agree

This software is more difficult to learn than MAYA even!

    very responsive

I don't find it difficult for the drawing part, but they have simplified the interface at my request. They are a very responsive company and have asked me several times what I think should change and how I use the product which they have made and the consistently deliver it. I can do much more with this product than any of its competitors. The only downside is the Studio version isn't available for Linux.
