In brief: A new Adobe Creative Suite training series has been launched by Scott Kelby, nova media has added to the number of devices supported by its iSync plugins, Apple has filed a remote control/FM patent, there's a new set of Aquatica Mac OS X HI icons, and Wolfram is bundling Mathematica apps with RM Math ... Kelby Media Group has announced the launch of Kelby Training, a new educational resource for photographers, graphic designers, and creative professionals that use Adobe Creative Suite applications. The training program offers instruction in the form of a DVDs, online classes, books, or a one-day live seminars. Instructors include Dave Cross, Matt Kloskowski, Bert Monroy, Corey Barker, Rafael Concepcion, Ben Willmore, Taz Tally, Terry White, Fay Sirkis, and Scott Kelby himself.
nova media expands iSync plugins
nova media has updated its iSync phone plugins to version 4.3. The new version features iSync support for the Nokia 3110, 6120, 6267 and 7500 Prism as well as Sony Ericsson T650i, W580i and W660i mobile phones. The nova media iSync phone plugins extend the number of mobile phones that can be used with iSync. The set requires Mac OS X 10.4.9 or higher.
Apple files remote control and FM patent
Apple has filed a new patent called "Remote controller and FM reception arrangement." Apple's patent generally relates to remote communication devices such as multimedia players, cell phones, radios (either mobile or stationary) and personal digital assistants. More specifically, the invention describes a user configurable modular communications system. Apple's first patent on this subject was published just days prior to Steve Jobs introduction of the iPod Radio Remote back in January 2006.
New Aquatica family of icons released
Stockicons.com has released the latest collections in the Aquatica family of royalty-free stock icons. Three collections are now available as scalable vector PDF files for use in large format, print and web applications. The Aquatica family of stock icons is fully OS X HI-compliant and covers such concepts such as tables, scripts, records, administration and security. Aquatica Mutimedia provides solutions for common media toolbar elements such as crop, pan, tempo, fast forward, play and more. Aquatica Basic EPS is available today for $249 and the Database and Multimedia EPS add-on sets are available for $129 each.
Wolfram bundles Mathematica apps with RM Math
Together with RM Educational Software, Inc., Wolfram Research has bundled over 200 Mathematica-based applications from The Wolfram Demonstrations Project with the RM Math Framework Edition software. RM Math Framework Edition provides a dynamic, visual, and highly interactive supplemental math curriculum that transforms the teaching and learning of high school math. Created with Mathematica 6, these Wolfram Demonstrations are part of a growing collection of interactive "mini-applications" from The Wolfram Demonstrations Project. Launched just a few months ago, the website features nearly 2,000 dynamic, open-code resources.
