Target preparing for iPods

An internal memo circulated amongst employees at Target stores may be a sign of an impending Apple hardware announcement, according to reports. Leaked to the public, the memo says that one or several "high retail" and "high theft" items will arrive at Target electronics deparments after a formal announcement on September 5th. This date happens to coincide with Apple's planned special event in San Francisco, which is widely expected to herald the release of new iPods, including a possible widescreen nano.

Regardless, the note indicates that the products will not actually arrive on the 5th, but rather between Thursday and Saturday. They are considered so imporant, however, that shipping docks may receive them outside of normal operating hours.

    BeatlePod?

My money's on an iPod preloaded with Beatles music, like the U2 iPod. . Otherwise, why the big deal at Target? . Unless it's a PR ruse to generate iPhone-like buzz for Target. (Think AT&T internal memos.)

Doesn't the new PSP should come out soon too?
