Objectpark launches Picnic file-sync app

updated 10:25 am EDT, Tue September 4, 2007

Picnic 1.0.1 released

Objectpark Software has released the first version of Picnic, a program that allows file sync between two or more Macs in a local network, or even when on separate networks. It accomplishes this through a peer-to-peer system, in which the latest version of a file, folder or application is automatically distributed to every participant it can detect. Aside from keeping files current, this acts as a form of quick file backup, and it can run on traditional LAN/WLAN setups or via direct Ethernet connections. Users and folders on Picnic are located through Apple's Bonjour software. Picnic requires Mac OS X 10.4, and costs $28 per copy for two users, or $21 per copy for ten users.
