AKVIS Enhancer 7.0 ships
AKVIS is shipping Enhancer 7.0, the latest version of its photo adjustment utility. The program restores detail to images either through HDR (high dynamic range) compositing, or by increasing the contrast of color transitions, bringing out detail in midtones as well as highlights and underexposed areas. Users can tweak highlights and shadows specfically, or adjust the overall level of detail and brightness. Version 7.0 of Enhancer comes in two forms: the standalone edition, which is the only one with HDR, or as a plug-in, which supports batch processing of photos.
The latter is compatible with Photoshop CS3 as well as other titles such as Photoshop Elements, Photo-Paint, and Paint Shop Pro. Enhancer Standalone sells for approximately $80, while Enhancer Plugin is $70. Both applications are Universal Binaries, and require Mac OS X 10.3.9.
