Sonnet qualifies Hitachi 1TB drives for RAID system

Sonnet Technologies has announced that the Hitachi 1TB Serial ATA (SATA) Ultrastar hard drive has successfully completed qualification testing and is now available in its Fusion RAID storage subsystems. The company claims 506 MB/sec read and 562 MB/sec write speed on the AJA DiskWhackTest with an 8-drive RAID 5 Fusion D800RAID. The Sonnet Fusion sports a RAID controller that supports RAID 0, 1, 4 (DVRAID), 5, 10, 50 and JBOD. It also features SATA host bus adapters for PCI-X, PCIe and ExpressCard/34 available.

Pavilion '08 includes Keynote HD and iPhone themes

KeynotePro has announced its Pavilion '08 Themes. The new package includes expanded Master Slides, new layout options and stunning HD themes, along with an all-new iPhone optimized theme joining the new Pavilion '08 EP Edition. The authors say Pavilion '08 "takes its inspiration from the classic sophistication of Deco-styled glass-on-post panels - in a modernist interpretation bridging the timeless look of the original to thoroughly modern type and layout styles set against a foundation of polished aluminum." Pavilion '08 Standard Edition is available for $20 or in a Bundle with 2 other themes for $50.

iPhone-optimized railway maps

Aap! has released a series of iPhone-optimized railway maps, covering systems including the Tokyo railway, Santiago de Chile Railway, San Francisco BART iPhone Map, New York City, London and DC Metro. These maps take advantage of the natural thumbnail view present in the photo albums function of the iPhone. When seen together the tiles reassemble visually making the entire map more navigable. For a large system like Tokyo or New York this is crucial. Users can zoom and pan to see full details and stops along your travels.


Frenzic Dashboard Widget released

Iconfactory and ARTIS Release have released a free Dashboard Widget for Frenzic, the puzzle game for Mac OS X. The widget allows users to keep track of their rank and high score. You can even drag multiple copies into Dashboard to keep a watchful eye on your closest competitors.
