Briefly: MacNN review; FileMaker/CS3 books

In brief: MacNN has reviewed Jax from JoeSoft, FMWebschool along with Wordware Publishing have released a new book on FileMaker, and Belkin is presenting its latest iPod cases for the Nano as well as the Shuffle to benefit the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. O'Reilly Media has published a new book on Flash CS3 Professional, PhotoshopCafe.com is offering two training titles on Adobe's Flash CS3, and the Photographer's User Group in Oregon is meeting on September 4th. MacNN has reviewed JoeSoft's Jax ($50), an iTunes plug-in that adds new features to Apple's multimedia software. Jax installs an icon on the iTunes toolbar that enables one-click launch of the software, allowing users to add lyrics as well as album art and YouTube/Google video content to offer a more complete playlist experience.

New FileMaker book

FMWebschool and Wordware Publishing have released a new book entitled "FileMaker Web Publishing - A Complete Guide to Using The API For PHP." The text is designed for FileMaker users who need to build a database-driven website, guiding readers from beginning levels of understanding to advanced knowledge of developing FileMaker-driven websites.

Belkin supports breast cancer research

Belkin is offering its latest iPod cases designed for Apple's Nano and Shuffle models as a means to help fight the war against breast cancer. The accessory-maker is donating 10 percent of the retail price of each pink and bone-colored cases to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

Flash CS3 books, Oregon user group meeting

O'Reilly Media and Aquent Graphics (AGI) have released a new book in the Dynamic Learning series titled "Dynamic Learning: Flash CS3 Professional" to help creative professionals and enthusiasts learn how to maximize the improved features of Adobe's Creative Suite CS3 software.... PhotoshopCafe.com is offering two training titles on Adobe Flash CS titled "Flash CS3 Boot Camp" and "Flash CS3 Animation Secrets" that aim to meet the demands of Creative Suite users who don't know where to start with flash.... The next Photographer's User Group meeting in Portland, Oregon is scheduled to take place next Tuesday on September 4th for an in-depth look at Apple's updated iPhoto application.
