Leopard "Welcome" movie
A copy of Apple's Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard introduction video has surfaced on YouTube, displaying the company's traditional "Welcome" message in numerous languages set atop a deep-space theme. A simple techno beat accompanies a warm introduction for new Leopard users when installation completes. Mac OS X Leopard is officially scheduled to ship in October, but Apple released developer-only copies at its World Wide Developer Conference in San Francisco as early as June. The Cupertino-based company announced that Leopard would see delays as a result of the iPhone shipment, but released a Leopard early start kit with a beta version in late July.

not familiar?

That "simple techno beat" is exactly the same tune that is featured in the current, 10.4 intro video. Didn't sound familiar to you, MacNN? Hmmm.
(besides, if THAT is techno in your opinion, you might wanna check your ears...)
Chances are Apple will change the music until release and just hasn't settled on a final choice yet. Let's just hope Steve doesn't go all Democrat and picks Celine Dion...

They didn't say it sounded new. Do they need to specify every little detail to you? And since most people don't buy new macs or install OS X every week, is one supposed to remember what the 'old' beat sounded like.
And just because they call it 'techno' doesn't mean they need to check their ears. Maybe they don't know what 'techno' music is supposed to sound like, and assume this is it. I have no idea what you would call techno. Could you please inform everyone here, including the editors, as to the explicit definition of 'techno'?

Testudo, my dear boy, you've certainly risen on the wrong side this morning haven't you? Are you so desperate to trash the Macnn posters that you can't wait til the day develops and grab something a little meatier? My goodness, do you never tire of being one obnoxious little f*&k?

If They Don't Know What TECHNO Music Sounds Like - then They Should NOT Be Comparing it to TECHO Music To Begin With_
ALSO - MacNN - WTF is this news ?
Who cares about the intro movie that Apple 'forces" you to watch upon install ? It's always been one of the less appealing and most annoying things about the OS to begin with_
And they originally modified it for the early Betas anyway - so agin - at the least this is "old news"_

Perhaps they THINK they know what techno music is. Its just not what you think it is.

Nope, never tire, esp. when there's such 6th graders like you on the boards apparently getting all upset over some discussion over what 'techno' is.
And I'd like to point out that, while you berate me about trashing MacNN posters, I neither trashed the poster, nor did I write it in such a rude, condescending, and utterly childish way as yourself did. In fact, I could just rewrite your comment as my own, arguing that you're the one looking to trash me on the first thing you saw.
Of course, I always find it hillarious to watch all the people complain about the writing, news, reporting, etc that Macnn posts, to the point they have to deride the authors. If it bothers you that MacNN people can't spell, don't know what a music genre is, or the like, why do they keep coming here to read the news and complain about it?
And I'm the one that gets the "Why do you bother to post" comments?

6th grader! what wit you have! boy, and i mean boy, i've put you in your place over and over and over again and you just don't learn so i'm tired of correcting you, now i'll just lambast your sorry little self. it is such a laugh that you claim to never have attacked anyone on here! what a pleasant little fantasy world you live in! it is exactly because you have personally attacked so many people, calling them names for years, that you get this kind of behavior, that we've all tired of your nonsense.
then you get testy when it's turned back on you. tsk tsk.

You're right. Based on your writing skills, with lack of capitalizations, run-on sentences, and, really, just lack of good sentence structure, saying you're in 6th grade may have been giving you too much credit.
And, technically, you could be much older, and just lacking the education (or just had a standard "American" education).
