British voices for iVox

AssistiveWare has released an updated British voice pack for iVox, a program that attempts to supply natural voices for any Mac OS X software compatible with Speech Manager. The key change is the addition of "Peter," a new male voice as an alternative to the existing Lucy and Graham options. These latter voices are said to have been improved for the new pack, though no details have been provided. Assistive is promoting the collection by offering discounts until October 31st: the solo add-on is available for $50, while iVox with British default voices is $100. A bundle with the company's GhostReader software is $110.

    wow

I love Peter! He sounds slightly intoxicated, which together with the sloppy-yet-posh British accent makes for a nice combination.

    Eh?

What exactly is a ‘British accent’? Does it mean RP? There are more accents in the British Isles than the stereotypically posh BBC accent!
