Sony T70 and T200 Leak

Sony Canada today inadvertently released information about two of the company's upcoming Cyber-shot cameras, either of which includes previously unseen features in its mainstream point-and-shoot models. The T70 and T200 will each feature large, wide touchscreens of 3 and 3.5 inches respectively that completely replace buttons and dials for adjusting modes; like the G1, users either tap the display with their fingers or use a stylus for hand-drawing messages and other images on top of photos. Owners will have similar access to live HDTV-resolution viewing through either a component AV cable or a dedicated Cyber-shot Station dock.

Both cameras will feature 8.1-megapixel sensors and the same rounded, metallic design, according to Sony. In addition to the larger LCD, the T200 will have a more powerful 5X optical zoom lens versus the 3X of the T70. Either camera will be available in black or silver, with the T70 gaining pink and white as exclusives and the T200 alone coming in an optional red.

Sony has yet to announce the new Cyber-shots in Canada or elsewhere in the world, and therefore doesn't provide pricing or launch information. However, both cameras are expected to be direct replacements for the T20 and T100 and may receive the same $300 and $400 price tags as their predecessors when they release this fall.
