Briefly: AAPL price target $165; 10.4.10 bug

In brief: Goldman ups the price target on AAPL based on speculation of new iMacs and iPods, unresolved USB audio bug in Mac OS X 10.4.10, Portland Mac Filmmaker User Group Meeting, Contactizer Pro discount, iPhone startup problem and resolution, and a new social networking app for iPhones ... Goldman Sachs has raised the price target on shares of Apple Inc. to $165 from $135. The firm believes major product releases (including new iMacs and full-screen iPods) will drive earnings and shares higher, and is maintaining a buy rating.

Unresolved USB audio bug in Mac OS X 10.4.10

There is an unresolved third-party webcam bug that cropped up with Mac OS X 10.4.10. This bug causes third-party web cams to no longer be detected as USB audio devices. The OS and no application (save Parallels) can utilize audio. It appears to be an Intel-only issue. A month after reporting it (and having it confirmed by Apple), there is still no resolution.

Portland Mac Filmmaker User Group Meeting

This month's meeting of Portland Mac filmmakers features "Hank, Aaron and the Alien From Outer Space," a quirky comedic ride through the world of alien abduction, government agendas and struggling relationships. This meeting will take place from 6:00 – 8:00 PM Tuesday, July 31st, 2007. in the MacForce Theater. MacForce is located at 100 SE Salmon Portland, OR 97214. Gizmodo reports on a startup problem where the iPhone enters single-user mode when turned on. "Here's another case of the iPhone's startup problem, getting stuck into single-user mode right after turning it on. A reader just sent this video and high resolution photo, along with a description of how it happened. But fear not, Apple fans, because there's an easy cure for it."
