OmniGraffle 4.2 update

Omni Group has published the the last-ever v4.x update for OmniGraffle, v4.2. OmniGraffle is used to create charts, graphs and diagrams, and features options like smart guides, Bezier curves, and the ability to import and/or export to PDF, PICT and OmniOutliner. The upgrade improves import and export for Microsoft Office Visio, and has been localized in languages including French, German, Spanish and simplified Chinese. Two versions are available: a basic package costs $80, but is missing Professional aspects like Visio, tables, and multi-page documents. The Pro software costs $150; both editions are Universal Binaries for Mac OS X 10.4.

    Why so negative?

Why is this post so negative? Omni has made a lot of updates available, and if the next one is paid, then fine, but you post this like the application is dead! Is it? You simply state itøs the last update, and then move on to specify what the normal & the pro versions cost, but nothing about next versions, or why they stop ... give me a STORY, or a simply update fact...

    not clear, but last 4.0

it seems that for those of us who bought version 4.x, this is the last free upgrade. They're moving on to version 5. In fact, I was just checking what's the newest OmniWeb, and here's a portion of the response from the Omni person: "We only charge for major versions so OmniWeb 6, OmniGraffle 5 and OmniOutliner 4 will be the next versions you'll need to purchase an upgrade for.

    Thanks! Troy"
