Alwan Color Expertise has promised to release CMYK Optimizer 3 (site not updated) in September, updating the color preflighting and optimization utility for CMYK separations and data. CMYK Optimizer is designed to help users achieve optimal print quality and proof matching while also reducing print costs. The update offers full support of the latest ICC color management system, Adobe PDF 8 library, and Alwan Dynamic DeviceLink Profiles. CMYK Optimizer 3 features a new press calibration option; image enhancement technology; Pantone PMS Colors; support for the latest Ghent PDF workgroup; support for the latest ICC 4 specifications and requirements; a new HTML-based interface; and improved processing speed.The software is scheduled to debut at GraphExpo in Chicago with pricing of $2,600 for the Photo version and $6,500 for the Publish edition.
