SFX Machine update, Vielklang plus-in

updated 01:35 pm EDT, Mon July 16, 2007

SFX Machine, Veilklang

The Sound Guy has released new updates to its SFX Machine RT, SFX Machine Pro, and Backwards Machine audio effects plug-ins while also announcing the Vielklang harmonization plug-in from Zplane Development. Vielklang harmonizes monophonic voices or instruments by analyzing the melody and using voice leading rules to find the best harmonies. Benefits include more natural-sounding harmonies with less input from the user, according to The Sound Guy. Key Vielklang features include working in harmony progressions rather than intervals, allowing users to view as well as edit results in a piano roll display, and the ability to trigger different harmonizations with MIDI. Vielklang 1.0.1 is priced at $250, while SFX Machine Pro 1.1.1 and SFX Machine RT 1.0.8 are priced at $150 and $75, respectively Backwards Machine 1.0.1 is available for $35. SFX Machine Pro, SFX Machine RT, and Backwards Machine require Mac OS X 10.3.9 or later while Vielklang requires Mac OS X 10.4 or later.

SFX Machine Pro is an advanced multi-effects plug-in with over 300 presets, while SFX Machine RT is a streamlined low-cost member of the SFX Machine family. Backwards Machine enables users to reverse continuous audio in real time. SFX Machine Pro 1.1.1 greatly reduces the latency of many of the pitch shift and vibrato presets, and streamlines the authorization process.
