iPhone Automator, Netscape

In brief: Software has surfaced that lets iPhone users control a Mac remotely via the cellular handset, Netscape 9 Beta 2 is available for download, and an iStyle store -- which is an official Apple reseller -- opened in Festival City. Directions have surfaced on the Web about how to control a Mac remotely via an iPhone. The tutorial describes installing iPhone Mail Rules which enable the iPhone to command a remote Mac to execute various tasks via specially crafted email messages. Supported tasks include adding a photo to an iWeb blog or the iPhoto library, listing folders on the remote Mac, and more.

Netscape 9 Beta 2 released

Netscape has released Netscape Navigator 9.0 Beta 2, an update to the Web browser that addresses several issues which cropped up in the Beta 1 release. The update adds URL as a tooltip to Linkpad entries alongside a "Reload" option to the FAS and Tracker sidebar context menus. Netscape 9 Beta 2 ensures that closing the last tab will close the browser window entirely, and fixes several bugs.

iStyle store opens

An iStyle Apple-certified reseller store has opened in Festival City, according to EmiratesMac, which also posted photos of the new store.
