iPhone fastest selling?
Apple's iPhone will likely become the company's fastest selling product in history, according to American Technology Research senior analyst Shaw Wu, and could rank among the fastest among consumer electronics altogether. "Our sources indicate that iPhone will likely become the fastest selling product in Apple's history and not to mention likely among the fastest (if not the fastest) in consumer electronics," Wu said. "We estimate sales of about 250,000 units in two days (up from our previous view of 50,000)." Apple's iPod nano currently holds the fastest selling product in the company's history, selling about one million units in about 17 days for an average of about 59,000 units per day.

Are there two Shaw Wu?

This can't be the same guy who was channelling John Dvorak and predicting dire portents for the iPhone just last week. No way.

You predicted sales of 50,000 units in two days. They sold 250,000 in two days. To paraphrase Lewis Black, giving you the benefit of the doubt, you're still off by a factor of five. If you were in any other business, and you were off by a factor of five, you'd still be doing time.

Apple's reporting a bare minimum of 500,000 units sold Friday thru Sunday. Not sure where the rest of you are getting your numbers, perhaps from Bill Gates and the MicroShaft spinsters?

Apple not reporting

Actually Apple isn't reporting anything. Wu and his friends are making numbers up and on top of that keep changing them around. Some person is estimating 750, 000. I really hate these people because it makes being an investor hard as they inflate expectations.
