WaterField turns design to modern MacBook

updated 03:15 pm EDT, Tue June 26, 2007

WaterField MacBook case

The San Francisco-based WaterField has released a new design of its Racer-X case, now fitted to Apple's 13-inch MacBook. Cases are also available for the 15- and 17-inch MacBook Pros, and earlier 12-inch PowerBooks and iBooks. All the cases are notable for having both a shoulder strap and handles, the latter of which can customized with either leather or a "mountain bike" grip. The inside is plush to help absorb impacts, and an exterior pocket should be able to hold essentials and more. Each case has an overall black color; to distinguish one, buyers can pick from trim in blue, brown, green, red or silver. The 13-inch Racer-X is on sale for $170.
