Backbase supports iPhone
The AJAX developer Backbase has announced that it has added support for the Apple iPhone to its Enterprise suite. Included as a part of this is support for the phone's web browser, Safari 3, and the as-yet unreleased Mac OS X Leopard. Apple declared AJAX the basis for the iPhone SDK at this year's Worldwide Developers Conference; the code is used to develop Rich Internet Applications (RIAs), as well as enhanced general interfaces. Programming with AJAX allows the iPhone to take advantage of SOA, Java, .NET and PHP/Ruby. Backbase has further announced that it will develop its own widgets and components for the iPhone, which will see release in the coming months.
