200GB, 7200 RPM


Other World Computing has announced a 200GB 7200RPM portable, bus-powered drive, dubbed the the Mercury On-The-Go 200GB. The drive is equipped with FireWire 800/400, USB2, and eSATA interfaces and built around the Hitachi 7K200 mechanism with OWC's custom Oxford924 bridge interface. The Mercury On-The-Go 200GB is priced at $360. OWC is also now shipping a 250GB 5400RPM model with otherwise similar specifications priced at $320. The drives have two FireWire 800/400 and one USB 2 ports and ship with a carrying case, FireWire 400/800 cables, USB cable, Prosoft DataRescue III for OS X. Dimensions for all models are 3.5"(W) x 5.5"(D) x 1" (H). The drives are covered by a one-year warranty.
