Mac OS X, Vista on PCs

In brief: A new guide as surfaced explaining how to install Mac OS X 10.4.9 on an Intel or AMD Windows machine while dual booting with Windows Vista, Apple is preparing to open its Woodland Hills retail store at 7021 S. Memorial Drive in Oklahoma, and Apokalypse Software has acquired the productivity applications Mori and Clockwork from Hog Bay Software. A guide has surfaced online describing the steps necessary to install Mac OS X 10.4.9 on a non-Mac system using an Intel or AMD processor. The guide further offers support for dual booting between Mac OS X and Windows Vista, but warns that downloading a pre-patched version of Mac OS X 10.4.9 install image is illegal and that the installation procedure for Mac OS X on a PC is illegal for most people anyway.

Woodland Hills store opening

Apple's newest retail store is set to open this Friday, coinciding with the Cupertino-based company's highly anticipated iPhone launch at 6:00 p.m. local time. The store, which is located in Tulsa Oklahoma, features a Genius Bar with Personal Shopping appointments and One to One personal training.

Apokalypse buys Mori, Clockwork

Apokalypse Software has acquired the productivity applications Mori and Clockwork from Hog Bay Software, and has vowed to continue improving the applications while maintaining simplicity as well as utility.

    10.4.10 is already out!

    Hi,

Thanks for the story, though there's already a 10.4.10 guide on that site! http://coolblog.profit42.com/2007/06/25/osx-10410-vista-dual-boot-intelamd/

    wtf

MacNN, seriously, why are you posting a news story about a guide like this? It's not like these things are "news", but I'm not sure how it does any good to promote it. It's like "Hey, here's this news story about installing OS X on your PC, even though most people are going to use an illegal pirated patched copy of OS X to do it".

    Re: wtf

Yes, as opposed to all the people installing windows on their macs, who're buying legit copies in order to do it.

And MacNN should also not report stories on the iPod, for I hear people just use it to steal music!

But forget that, because, besides pirating it, they're also BREAKING THE EULA!!!! Aiiiieeeeeeeeeee! Run for the hills, its Apple's attorneys!

    Semi-colons!

BTW, that first comma should be a semi-colon, because when I first read it, I was thinking "While OS X.4 is being installed on a PC, Apple is opening a store" like its one of those "Emperor fiddles while Rome burns" kind of things.
