ZEN Stone MP3 Plus player

Creative Technology today introduced its Creative ZEN Stone MP3 Plus player, a featherweight 2GB MP3 player with FM radio, a clock and stopwatch, voice recording and more. The company, which also debuted a complementary portable speaker system, claims the new 2GB player can store up to 1,000 songs and that it offers a battery life of up to 9.5 hours. Like the Creative ZEN Stone, the Creative ZEN Stone Plus comes in six high-gloss colors: black, white, red, blue, pink and green, and features a smooth contoured design, so "it feels naturally comfortable in your hand."

Creative also announced its new wristband, a $30 accessory designed for easy viewing of the new clock and stopwatch in the Creative ZEN Stone Plus; it also debuted two different three-packs of colored silicon skins that include clips; they are available for only S$25 per set. A armband with a skin (S$30) and a keychain with a case (S$25 are also available from Creative.

The Creative ZEN Stone Plus MP3 player is available in Singapore for S$100. The black, white and pink players will be available starting June 22, 2007, while the red, blue and green players will be made available soon, the company said. A release date for the US was not specified.

"On May 3, we introduced a huge new market for MP3 players with the introduction of the Creative ZEN Stone, the tiny, featherweight 1GB MP3 player priced at only S$69.00," said Sim Wong Hoo, chairman and CEO of Creative. "Now with the Creative ZEN Stone Plus, we give consumers another great choice. For just S$99.00, they can have 2GB of memory with a vibrant color screen for access to all their favorite FM radio stations, plus a built-in microphone for voice recording. There's even a clock, stopwatch, and customizable equalizer settings."

New portable speaker system

The Creative TravelSound ZEN Stone is a new portable speaker system for the Creative ZEN Stone or Creative ZEN Stone Plus. Designed for frequent travelers and music lovers, it features "polished curves and a contoured design" tha allow the Creative TravelSound ZEN Stone to rest comfortably in your hands; the design includes a retractable stand that lets users place the Creative TravelSound ZEN Stone on virtually any flat surface and listen to their favourite music from the docked Creative ZEN Stone or Creative ZEN Stone Plus.

Using micro drivers, this lightweight versatile portable speaker system provides "crystal clear sound" for more than 20 hours; it is powered by just two AAA alkaline batteries. In addition, users can listen to music at lower volume without batteries (with the speaker system operating without the power amplifier).

The Creative TravelSound ZEN Stone speaker system will be available in black or white beginning in July for $70.

Apple has done such an amazing job with the iPod and iTunes experience, I honestly dont see the point of all these 3rd rate mp3 players. For the price, its pure garbage. It's game over people; Apple has won and continues to bring the best to market.

    Re: irrevelant

You know, you're right. All existing mp3 player manufacturers should just give up and not even bother trying to make anything, since the iPod has the market all sewn up. Who needs competition, for goodness sakes.

    re: irrelevant

are you f****** kidding me this demolished the iPod shuffle. Apple iPod Shuffle: -1gb flash memory -no screen -no FM radio -no voice recorder -no EQ settings -no clock -$80 Creative Zen Stone Plus: -2gb flash memory -FM radio -EQ settings -Clock -OLED screen -voice recorder -$60 (amazon)

Who needs an iPod shuffle when you can buy a zen stone plus with twice the memory and $20 cheaper??
