Apple airs new iTunes ad with Paul McCartney

updated 10:50 am EDT, Fri June 15, 2007

iTunes ad with McCartney

Apple has launched yet another iTunes ad (scroll down and click 'play') on US television -- this time featuring former Beatle Paul McCartney. 'Macca' appears in the advertisement to sing Dance Tonight, the title track from his latest album Memory Almost Full and features pastel backgrounds with a non-silhouetted McCartney singing and dancing along a traditional English street, according to Macworld UK. While reports have surfaced that indicated that bringing the Beatles music to iTunes was "virtually settled," fans may have to wait until 2008, according to Olivia Harrison, the widow of late guitarist/singer/songwriter George Harrison. Despite the landmark settlement of a trademark dispute that dates back to Apple Inc. (then Apple Computer Inc.'s) inception, Harrison said that a few things still needed to be worked out elsewhere before the music will be available for digital download and purchase.

    That'd Odd

Mine seems to be working fine. Try opening the url in Quicktime (copy address, Command-U, paste while in QT). Perhaps a software update for your QT is in order?

    RE: that'd odd

I think you're right, it does the same thing in FireFox so it must be quicktime, the weird thing is the iphone ads work and the QT trailers work too. hmmm… I should re-install QT pro,

    stop complaining?

when will you stop complaining about others posts? is that the only reason you come here?

safari 3 doesn't have the latest quicktime? what, they just update qt yesterday or something so f.3 doesn't work? seems like a reasonable question to me.

my qt is 7.1.5, looks like there's a .6 out there. guess s.3 didn't have that in it?

    go ahead, complain about this.

    Re: stop complaining

Hey, go read the safari threads on articles talking about what's wrong with safari 3. And they all basically say the same thing: "It's a beta! What do you expect?"

So why shouldn't the same hold true to people complaining about it here?

Hey, apparently it was a problem on their end. I didn't re-install anything and it works now. Yaaay!
