as in life's gonna suck for the indianapolis, knoxville and atlanta area stores as people drive east to get it one hour earlier.

in June, this thing would be launched at close of business on the 500th day. Could they be stretching any more?

old news_ I agree - thanks to MacNN for continuously updating us on news from several days ago_
Change yore motto to something that fits that_
'Cause "read me first" just ain't doing it_ --------------------- On a side note - first i guess it sucks to be people NOT in the Eastern Time Zone for 1 - 2 - 3 hours [respective of the proceding time zones there-after]_
And 2nd - as someone mentioned above - it might suck to be us that are in the Eastern Time Zone since hoards of folks from elsewhere are going to sully our beloved Time Zone just to get their grubbies on an iPhone first_
Too bad you can't pre-order them and have them arrive at yore houseby the 29th_

I stopped in to at&t wireless today. All corporate stores will close @ 4:30 on the 29th and re-open at 6 PM. If you are switching carriers without a contract (like me), bring in your last bill... and the old phone, of course. They still have no info re: units pre store, etc.

its news

For all you macnn bashers, this is news, because, apparently, some people on the west coast were thinking that they could get it at 3pm local time. That's why Apple sent out the clarification in the first place.

So does that mean that each year the President (or maybe d*** Clark) has to tell the people on the west coast (especially those in Rio Linda, CA) that New Year's on the West Coast does not start until 12:00 am PST? Or do you all think that it begins at 9:00 pm?
It was totally obvious when they first said 6:00 pm... Name one release of a major product that goes on sale at a certain time that is NOT time zone specific.
