2-year 0% Mac, CS3 lease


Apple is offering 0 percent financing for 24 months on new Mac systems and software -- including Adobe's Creative Suite 3 (CS3) -- until June 30th. "With Adobe Creative Suite 3 running natively on every new Mac, it has never been a better time to upgrade the Mac systems in your studio. Now you can bring your most visionary ideas to life as you take full advantage of multi-core processing power and the world’s most advanced operating system." The Cupertino-based company enables customers to pay no interest on a lease of hardware and software with a $5,000 minimum for 24 months pending approval. Software choices include Adobe's CS3 alongside any Apple applications, providing the software value doesn't exceed 50 percent of the value of the lease.

    Which is it?

    Is this a least, or financing? The article seems to disagree with itself, and the link just goes to the Apple store, which has no mention of the program.

    0% implicit lease rate, assuming lessee does not exercise a fair market value purchase option and returns the leased equipment in a timely manner at the end of the lease term, and disregarding any charges other than 24-month rent payments (such as taxes, fees, and shipping charges).

    $5,000 minimum transaction. Maximum soft costs (software, services) not to exceed 50% of lease amount may be included at same rate. Eligible products include Mac Pro, MacBook Pro, 24-inch iMac, and Apple Cinema Displays. Server and storage products must be custom quoted. Business customers only.     that also redirects me. but i found the page again. on the main store page, off to the right click on the business store. then look for the 0% lease graphic.

    Look before you leap

    Most of these finance deals turn out to be as expensive, if not more, as loans.

    Find out and add up the monthly service charges and remember as you pay it off in monthly installments the loan is effectively for only half the amount over the whole period whilst the charges are constant.
