WWDC: Id, EA games coming back to Mac
Electronic Arts co-founder and chief creative officer Bing Gordon today at the World Wide Developers Conference (WWDC) in San Francisco today revealed that the company is moving staff members over to the Mac platform to once again release gaming titles for Mac users. The first titles to ship for Mac will include Command and Conquer 3, Battlefield 2142, Need for Speed Carbon, and Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. EA offered a demo of Harry Potter with smooth, sharp graphics and high-tech lighting effects. The company has also promised to ship Madden and Tiger Woods '08 simultaneously for Mac OS X. Id Software chief technical officer and owner John Carmack also made an appearance during the keynote, showcasing a next-generation technology with realistic cliffs, metal objects, fabrics, and more.
