Apple Store goes offline

Apple's online store today went offline ahead of company CEO Steve Jobs' keynote address at the World Wide Developers Conference (WWDC) in San Francisco. Keynotes delivered by Apple's boss traditionally bring announcements of new products or services, and often accompany a brief period of store downtime as Apple works to update its product offerings online. At least one industry analyst expects Jobs to reveal some of the secret features which remained veiled from the eyes of the public after Leopard's first test release earlier this year, and hopes to see "virtual machine" technology that would allow users to run multiple operating systems simultaneously for seamless operation of Mac OS X and Microsoft Windows without the need to reboot.
