soundBlade 1.2 updated

Sonic Studio has released an update to its flagship digital audio workstation solution, soundBlade 1.2. First announced at the 122nd convention of the Audio Engineering Society in Vienna, the product offers a streamlined, high-fidelity alternative to other PCM production applications. soundBlade relies on Core Audio for default I/O (eliminating hardware lock-in) and combines Sonic Studio's EFM and four point editing capabilities with its SSE real-time audio engine and other options such as Series 300 DSP I/O processors and the NoNOISE II suite of restoration tools.

The 1.2 release incorporates hundreds of optimizations and stability enhancements as well as almost two dozen feature additions, including an 8 Channel option for surround work. soundBlade 1.2 delivers premastering functionality with the signal processing, restoration and comprehensive editing. It is available for $1,500.

The product records 4 channel digital audio to 192k and offers realtime functions such as multimode editing, multimode gain adjustment, bounce/external processing, and hosting of DSP (both AU & VST). Other functions include:

  • 10x Red Book-Compliant CD-R Burn
  • 10x DDP File Set Delivery
  • 10x Freeze/Render to Disk
  • Complete Premastering
  • Background SRC
  • Vive Restoration Suite Included
  • Proprietary Shaped TPDF Redithering
  • Multimode Waveform/Text View
