Pleasant Software for the People has release ‹bercaster 1.1, an update to the company's complete podcast production suite. The tool allows podcasters to prepare, record, cut and release their shows. Priced at $80, the the new release adds improved adds improved device routines with lower latency and a new "select and cut" function that allows easier drag-and-drop movement of selections.
Other new features include a new option to "Reset Playhead on Stop" in the "Mark" menu. If switched on, the playhead resets to it's start position after playback or record. You can also now record from iChat, Skype or any other chat application. Finally, it is now possible to choose a single channel from a multichannel input device.
System requirements include a G4, G5 or Intel CPU and Mac OS X v. 10.4.4 or later.
